How to Write SEO Meta Tags That Get Clicks
July 19, 2026 · 4 min read · Toolszy Team
Meta tags tell search engines and users what your page is about. Getting them right improves both your rankings and your click-through rate.
The title tag
Your most important tag. Keep it under ~60 characters, put the main keyword near the front, and make it compelling. This is the blue link people see in Google.
The meta description
Around 150–160 characters summarising the page. It doesn't directly affect ranking, but a good one boosts clicks. Include your keyword naturally.
Clean URLs & keywords
Use short, hyphenated, lowercase URL slugs. And make sure your target keyword actually appears in your content — without stuffing.
